Rock U Canada Policies (updated June 2025)

TUITION:

Monthly tuition fees are withdrawn on the 1st of the month.

A method of payment is required on your account at the time of registration. Accepted methods of payment are Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Visa Debit, or by request, post-dated cheque or e-transfer.

For students beginning mid-month, tuition will be prorated and monthly billing will begin on the 1st of the following month. Some group classes may not be available to begin mid-session, and others may have specific requirements prior to joining.

Students may book additional lessons at a per-lesson cost.

FEES:

A one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $25 per student is charged upon registration.

A performance fee will be assessed in the month of a scheduled student performance for students in group lessons or those participating in shows. This fee includes two guaranteed tickets to the performance. If additional tickets become available, they will be released on a first-come, first-served basis.

The performance fee helps cover costs associated with the event such as venue rental, equipment, staffing, and production expenses. This fee may range from $25 to $85 per student, depending on the venue and the scope of the performance.

There is a $30 NSF fee for returned cheques or bounced automatic payments.

STUDENT ABSENCES:

Cancellation of an individual lesson requires a minimum of 2 days’ notice to be eligible for a make-up lesson. More notice is always appreciated.

Students are eligible for up to 2 make-up lessons per semester. Make-up credits expire 90 days after the missed lesson.

Same-day cancellations are not eligible for make-up lessons.

Missed group classes are not eligible for make-ups.

Students must arrive on time for lessons. Lessons will start and end at the scheduled time; we cannot extend time due to late arrivals.

LESSON AND GROUP CLASS WITHDRAWALS:

Students may withdraw from private or group lessons with four lesson weeks’ written notice, provided before the 1st of the month. Students may continue to attend lessons during the notice period. Final payments will be calculated based on the number of lessons taken and paid for.

TEACHER ABSENCES:

Teachers may schedule substitute instructors from time to time. Any lessons canceled by the instructor will be made up at a mutually agreed upon time. If a student cancels or does not attend a scheduled make-up lesson, the make-up is forfeited.

STUDENT CONDUCT:

Students are expected to arrive prepared, on time, and to demonstrate respectful behavior.

Rock U Canada reserves the right to dismiss any student due to frequent absences, behavioral issues, overdue tuition payments, or noncompliance with school policies.

PHOTO RELEASE:

Rock U Canada is granted permission to take photographs and/or video of students for use in promotional materials including, but not limited to, brochures, websites, posters, and social media.

Photos or videos may be used in future print or electronic publications. Prior approval will be requested before attaching any personal information to media content.

HEALTH & WELLNESS POLICY:

Students exhibiting symptoms of illness may be asked not to attend in-person lessons.

If a student appears sick during a lesson, a parent/guardian will be contacted to pick them up.

Students are asked to wash their hands before each lesson or group class.
